Calgary’s Changing Culture: Innovative Water Leadership
Please note: to be eligible for participation, you must fall within our "young leader" demographic of 18-35 years old.
Calgary’s perception towards water is changing, simulating a culture of innovation around our relationship with water.
This weekend water learning workshop will develop Calgary’s innovative future leaders in water management and related fields. Youth from diverse backgrounds and sectors will learn about how creative leadership and entrepreneurial endeavours are championing better water policy, infrastructure, and public involvement processes in the region.
Current leaders and entrepreneurs in Southern Alberta’s water management and public engagement realms will join the group as guest mentors, introducing participants to the art of complex decision-making and out-of-the-box thinking in addressing water issues (now and expected) that require new, innovative management approaches. Resource guests will include representatives of the TELUS World of Science centre and the clean technology, energy development, public policy, and academic sectors. A major focus will be on exploring existing gaps in development around water (infrastructure, technology, education, etc) and bringing about innovation via unlikely partnerships crossing sectors, cultures, generations and regions.
