Cultures of water contentIn Germany water is available any time in good quality, but still people are very concerned about pollution and the quality of rivers. While in India water is not available at an unlimited amount and also the quality is a problem. But despite those issues, people do not care for the environment and water. Interesting observation, but I feel very helpless about the problem as I do not know how to improve and influence things. One similarity between India and Germany with regards to water is definitely that the industry has to take more responsibility and act in a more responsible way. Water for me means purity and cleanliness, but also refreshment and beauty. Life without water is not imaginable and - even if we ever find a way to live without - desirable. (Patty, a German in India) “su dokmek” is the throwing of water upon the departure of guests from a home, like the pension owner threw a water on the path behind us as we left for our trip… It is a wish to go smoothly forward in your path and come smoothly back, as water flows down smoothly. It is an Anatolian tradition. (Kivanc, Turkey)
