Waterlution
  Our Vision

Our vision at Waterlution is to be an active contributor in influencing the behaviours of individuals, companies, policy-makers and educators in the way that we all experience, use, manage and distribute our water.

We believe that the only way that deep, systemic change happens is through open, cross-silo dialogue. As individuals build relationships, across viewpoints and sectors, and build their knowledge on the complex water issues we currently face in Canada that progressive actions can be taken.

We recognize the challenges of stepping out of our “boxes” and fostering meaningful collaboration with others, and so offer spaces in which we can explore our deeply held views around water to authentically and creatively carve new ways forward. In our programs and processes, we bring together different stakeholders and perspectives to inspire and design a healthy and sustainable relationship with water – across sectors, generations and ways of working.

Underlying our philosophy are the questions: How can we look further upstream, to encourage longer-term, systemic and inclusive approaches within our society rather than new “band-aid” solutions? How can we instill the knowledge and confidence to investigate root causes of issues and develop short-term actions that feed into our individual and collective sustainable long-term visions?

Waterlution believes that everyone has a role to play in understanding the physical, cultural, social, historical, environmental and spiritual elements that contribute to our relationship with water. As people around the world expand their knowledge of water, we can all – as citizens, organizations, and water stakeholders - be better prepared to make long-term and holistic decisions about water management and usage.

Waterlution workshops play a key role in developing tomorrow's water leaders and decision-makers in Canada. The communication skills learned and developed in the Waterlution programs help build capacity for individuals and their organizations to build sustainable relationships with each other - and the wider public - around water initiatives.
