Waterlution honoured as one of Tides Canada’s Top 10
The Tides Top 10 recognizes the nation’s most innovative and forward-thinking projects and organizations that have demonstrated outstanding leadership, vision and real-world impact in addressing today’s most pressing environmental and social problems. Waterlution was chosen for working across sectors and generations, providing opportunities for dialogue and leadership to develop inclusive and sustainable ways to manage water. Check out the Tides Top 10 2011 recipients and video here.
When accepting the award, Waterlution's director Karen Kun, emphasized the question "how are you developing young leaders in your work and personal life?"
“Each of this year’s Tides Top 10 initiatives is working on a unique set of environmental and social challenges, and each one is ground-breaking in their approach to social change.” said Ross McMillan, President and CEO of Tides Canada. “Through innovation and solutions-oriented approaches, the Top 10 recipients are empowering others to drive positive change.”

The Canadian Water Innovation Lab 2010:
An Unconference for Uncommon Leaders. The Albertan Rockies, October 18-24, 2010.
In October 2010, 250 young Canadians attended a once-in-a-lifetime learning event to turn their good intentions into concrete actions to protect our most precious natural resource. The Canadian Water Innovation Lab 2010 was designed to give tomorrow’s leaders the insights, tools, and connections to make a difference in protecting and preserving water. Right now.
“The Lab served to re-motivate me; to reaffirm that what I am doing is really important and that I can have a significant impact.” - CWIL Participant, 2010.
“The Lab showed me the power of group dialogue in moving Canada’s water policy forward.” – CWIL Facilitator, 2010.
"The Lab was an excellent opportunity to network and learn in a 'safe' environment where it's okay to ask questions and propose unconventional ideas.” - CWIL Participant, 2010.
